Hey there, welcome to LoopBreak! We’re a video game website designed for a black audience, from a team of black writers. Our goal is to cover games from our unique perspective, delivering news, interviews, reviews, and features tailored toward an audience that’s typically underserved. Black gamers make up a significant portion of the gaming audience, but that’s not reflected in the vast majority of gaming websites. We feel like there’s a disconnect there, and we hope that LoopBreak will provide something fresh. We’re breaking the loop!
I’m Donovan Erskine, Editor-In-Chief of LoopBreak. I studied journalism at Bowie State University, Maryland’s oldest HBCU. As EIC, I’ll be overseeing all content on LoopBreak. I’ll be determining our tone and voice, and you can expect me to hold all of our work to the highest standard of quality. Of course, I won’t be going on this journey alone, and I’m very grateful for Jatovi McDuffie and Joshua Childs, who are working alongside me as LoopBreak’s first freelancers.
At launch, we have a series of interviews with black game developers that will roll out on a weekly basis. This will be a strong point of emphasis for LoopBreak: speaking with developers and creators of color, providing them a platform to talk about their experience, from the mundane to the extraordinary.
We encourage you to join us on this adventure, and we genuinely hope you enjoy the content we have in store.
